Advanced Oxford welcomes the Oxford team of CBRE into our membership

Property specialist, CBRE – Oxford, joins Advanced Oxford as we welcome three new Sponsor members to our work to grow the innovation economy

Advanced Oxford is delighted to welcome CBRE Oxford as a new sponsor member and as an active contributor to our work to support the development of Oxfordshire’s innovation ecosystem.  CBRE Group, a Fortune 500 and S&P 500 company, is the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, based on 2021 revenue. The company has more than 105,000 employees serving clients in more than 100 countries.

CBRE’s newly established Oxford office was created following the acquisition of local property experts, VSL and Partners, in March 2022.  The Oxford office is part of a network of 16 dedicated offices, serving every property need across the country. The Oxford office now has the largest transactional team in the county advising developer clients that include Oxford Business Park and Milton Park and occupiers such as Oxford Biomedica and Exscientia.  The team includes Richard Venables, Tom Barton, Andrew Lockhart and Kevin Wood who have extensive experience in the life science and technology markets.

CBRE is one of four new members that Advanced Oxford is welcoming into the group. Law firm Taylor Vinters and IP specialists Mathys & Squire are also joining as sponsor members, alongside new member, consulting engineering firm, Hoare Lea.

CBRE will also join a new Laboratory Providers’ Forum that is being set up by Advanced Oxford, with the group meeting for the first time today (20th September, 2022).

To date, Advanced Oxford has only had one form of membership, open to companies, organisations or institutions that are part of Oxfordshire’s knowledge economy.  There are other businesses within the region that play an important role in supporting innovative, research and development intensive companies, indeed our innovation ecosystem could not operate successfully without them.  There is a great opportunity for these firms to contribute to Advanced Oxford’s work, bringing their expertise and insight, drawn from their relationships with knowledge-based enterprises.  As a consequence, Advanced Oxford is pleased that a number of these professional services providers are now joining us as sponsors across all our activities and projects.  CBRE’s work with science park developers, investors and Oxfordshire based innovation companies fully complements Advanced Oxford’s work as the voice of the region’s innovation-based business community.
